Direction

First things first: We got to mix 12 eggs. We want to make sure all the yolks are broken. So we have milk. Throw that milk right in there. We have ground cinnamon, vanilla. Pour a lil’ bit in there. A little goes a long way, and baking powder, boom. Well, tiny boom. Whisk that up. So we got our bread cubes over here, which is just chopped-up challah bread. Holler for some challah, y’all. And you can use other types of bread, too. You can use potato bread, whatever you like.

This bread really soaks up the egg mixture that we’re about to put in there, okay? We want to make sure we have 1-inch cubes, and we’ve sprayed our pan with nonstick spray before we put the bread cubes in there. So we can go ahead and just pour our egg mixture right on top. Get everything soaked. Boom.. Flavor achieved. We’re going to take our spatula and make sure we have everything submerged in here. Once all your bread is submerged, we’re going to cover this baby up. We can put this in the fridge overnight or for 4 hours. Either way, until that bread, is fully absorbed with all that eggy, cinnamon-y goodness.

Good morning. I’ve had my coffee. I’ve preheated my oven. I’m just gonna mix some melted butter, some brown sugar, and some ground cinnamon. I want to whisk that up. This flavorful sauce, this sweet, buttery, gooey sauce is going to go right on top of our cinnamon roll casserole that’s been soaking overnight.

Then

Right on top, just drizzle it right on top, up and down, side to side. There we go. This goes into the oven for about 20 minutes or until it’s golden brown. It’s icing time. So I’ve got some cream cheese, some confectioners’ sugar, got a little bit more vanilla. It’s nice and sweet.

So I’m going to whisk in some milk, and I got a lot here. We’re just going to use enough so that we get a nice consistency to our icing. You’re going to whisk that all together until everything is mixed up. So we’re looking for that semi-thick consistency, you see? And once you’re done, that smell is going to hit you. You know what that is. It’s time for your cinnamon roll casserole.

And there it is. It’s just come out of the oven, right there. You let it sit for 5 minutes. We’re going to drizzle our icing right on top and look at that. Just like the mall used to make. Y’all remember the mall, right? That was the place kids went to have fun, and there you go. You’ve got an iced cinnamon roll casserole. Add a mimosa and a nap, and that’s all you need.
